The second workshop has started. From now until April 1st, there will be four online courses. In Raymond's course, we learned about the types and characteristics of cover crops, basic knowledge of mixes, and the process of increasing microbial diversity and biomass by mixing four or more families. The key is to know the characteristics of cover crops and mix them with a clear purpose. To do this, it is important to know the condition of the soil in your field and dig up the soil to observe what is needed. Since the condition of the cover crop's growth is related to the growth of the next cash crop, it is also necessary to observe the growth process of the cover crop.
What does soil carbon storage for soil health mean? What is stable carbon? What is the liquid carbon pathway? Does compost application not increase humus? What kind of compost increases the FB ratio? Can traditional Japanese grass seeds, adzuki beans, and soybeans be used as cover crops? The discussion continued with the members on such topics.
